Is it to be expected, or is AVA doing little about the smuggling
of endangered species?
AVA is claming down really hard and people are not offering illegal
stuff out as often as before
Like the Stingray
It is illegal to sell even amongst hobbyist now (latest law
change) but AVA understands that sometimes the ray breeds too
quickly and you have to change hands and not just abandon the ray
so they have a registered program if you are a hobbyist and you
need to rehome your ray.
The mods in the forum I go to are by far the strictest and very
little hanky panky there and everyone have been warned that AVA
goes to that forum often
However most people are into freshwater fishes and not much
attention is paid to the saltwater section so I think people didn't
see the post.
Like the Australian Lungfish, the hobbyist are working with AVA
to bring some in. It's all through legal channels unless someone
decides to risk it by smuggling fish from across the causeway
